LA POLÍTICA DE LA INCERTIDUMBRE EN LOS REGÍMENES ELECTORALES AUTORITARIOS
ANDREAS SCHEDLER
Essay from institutional comparative politics where the political scientist, Schedler, makes an exhaustive categorization of authoritarian election regimes, from the fall of the soviet block until the beginnings of the 21st century, and the political and institutional mechanisms that characterize them. For the author, the fight for power in these regimes means the manipulation and control of typically democratic mechanisms, such as multiple party elections, for the legitimization of autocracies whose stay in power is not secure and are not aware of how much control they have over the citizens. This coordinates the analysis to various levels, so as to understand how this electoral uncertainty settles in uncertain politics.
