Cuban leaders have not only obtained from Venezuela a subsidy equivalent to its previous Soviet aid but they have also deeply penetrated its structures of power to the point of having advisors in the Presidency and, practically, throughout all public administrations. Due to this, Fidel and Raul Castro have not had to forcefully impose themselves at all. The peculiar thing here is how the Venezuelan government has voluntarily submitted to the Cuban regime, in a way that has never been seen before in world geopolitics.
